Covid Love is a short comedy by Dutch director René Nuijens and for which Niek wrote the screenplay. It was produced during the 2020 Covid pandemic and was shown at over 100 film festivals globally in the years after where it was honored with a total of 25 awards. It was sold to CANAL+ in France and Movistar in Spain. Creative agency Higuita co-produced the film.
Covid Love takes us to an intimate moment of Dick and Mary who meet each other for the first time during the Covid pandemic. An empty restaurant, a somewhat odd waiter and his strict measures make it a tough evening. Or will love prevail?
